I looked at the Tesla accessories plus a few Japanese brands, but the market here is still thin, and what does exist is not cheap. So I ordered my Model YL floor mats from AliExpress instead.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two months later I have a pretty clear picture of whether that was a good idea.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">About two weeks after ordering, a huge cardboard box was sitting on my doorstep.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" you can see, the box had taken a beating in transit. Classic overseas shipping.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My heart sank for a second, but the contents are mats, so nothing was damaged. You have to accept a bit of this when you order from abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I bought three separate things:<\/p>\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A two-layer set for rows 1 to 3: TPE tray mats with carpet mats on top (AITESLCAR). Trunk and frunk mats included<\/li>\n<li>A TPE guard that covers the step under the seats (FUCHEN CARTER)<\/li>\n<li>A four-piece set of door sill covers and kick panel covers (AITESLCAR)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mat set was the main purchase. The other two fill in the places floor mats can&#8217;t reach. No fiddling with alignment \u2014 drop it in place, done.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bare TPE looks a bit cheap, and it isn&#8217;t nice underfoot. The carpet on top is what makes it feel like a normal car interior again.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The TPE underneath is the waterproof layer, the carpet on top does the looks. It&#8217;s exactly where shoes land when someone climbs into the second row, so I&#8217;d been eyeing it as the first thing to get filthy.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It follows the contour of the step neatly, with no lifting or gaps. It just looks right.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Door_sills_and_kick_panels\"><\/span>Door sills and kick panels<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The third item, the sill covers with kick panel covers, has actually been in every photo so far.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That black stitched trim in the foreground is it. You can see a big chunk of it in the seat-rail guard photo too.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The back is adhesive tape \u2014 peel the backing, press it on. No tools needed.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One tip: do this while everything is still clean. Stick it down over sand or dust and you trap the grit underneath permanently, so noticing later means peeling it off to start again.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Feet hit this trim every time anyone gets in or out, so covering the factory plastic before it gets scratched feels good.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Boot_sub-trunk_and_frunk\"><\/span>Boot, sub-trunk and frunk<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The set included cargo area pieces, so I carried on to the back.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"450\" height=\"253\" src=\"https:\/\/everinterest.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/modelyl-mat-007.jpg\" alt=\"The boot mat with the seatback protector\" class=\"wp-image-8775\" srcset=\"https:\/\/everinterest.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/modelyl-mat-007.jpg 450w, https:\/\/everinterest.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/modelyl-mat-007-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There&#8217;s a seatback protector that covers the rear of the third row. Anything finer comes up with a quick pass of the vacuum. Because TPE sits underneath, I can be fairly liberal with water without worrying about it soaking into the car&#8217;s own carpet.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I genuinely didn&#8217;t expect the cleaning side to improve this much.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"450\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/everinterest.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/modelyl-mat-013.jpg\" alt=\"The seat rail cutout still lined up after two months\" class=\"wp-image-8781\" srcset=\"https:\/\/everinterest.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/modelyl-mat-013.jpg 450w, https:\/\/everinterest.net\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/modelyl-mat-013-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 450px) 100vw, 450px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The shifting I was worried about hasn&#8217;t happened either.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Look at the cutout around the seat rail \u2014 after two months of getting in and out, it&#8217;s still sitting exactly where I put it on day one. The under-seat guard added \u00a59,569 (approx. $64), the sill covers \u00a53,323 (approx. $22), so \u00a539,070 (approx. $260) all in.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For comparison I checked the <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.tesla.com\/category\/vehicle-accessories\/model-y\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tesla online shop<\/a>. The all-weather interior liners are \u00a535,000 (approx. $235), rear trunk plus seatback liners \u00a533,000 (approx. $220), the rear trunk well liner \u00a59,500 (approx. $63).<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Covering the floor and the boot that way comes to \u00a577,500 (approx. $520). There&#8217;s no Model YL specific listing yet, so those are Model Y prices as of August 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The AliExpress 13-piece set covers the same ground for \u00a526,178 \u2014 third row included, frunk included, with a carpet layer on top of the tray.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You do have to accept a battered box and a two-week wait.
