They climb in straight from playing outside, so something had to go over the upholstery.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I found a set listed as made for the six-seat Model YL, ordered it before delivery, then used it for about two months. The first order was \u00a512,828 (approx. $86), the second \u00a59,346 (approx. $62).<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first order broke down like this: two front seat covers at \u00a54,906, two second-row covers at \u00a54,519, one third-row bottom cover at \u00a54,882. A \u00a51,479 discount came off, then shipping was \u00a51. Yes, one yen. Very AliExpress.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second order arrived late, so the seller refunded a small amount as compensation. I was not in a hurry, so no real harm done, though I do wish I had ordered everything at once.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I usually think of AliExpress interior parts as a few dollars to maybe twenty, so crossing \u00a520,000 made me pause. Split across five seats it works out to roughly $30 per seat, which starts to feel reasonable again.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_armrest_cover_%C2%A51894_approx_13\"><\/span>The armrest cover: \u00a51,894 (approx. $13)<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cover that slips over the second-row armrest came from a different shop, at \u00a51,894 (approx. $13). List price was \u00a52,113 before the discount.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is silicone, sold as a pair for the left plus right side.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Add that to the seat covers, and the whole thing came to \u00a524,068 (approx. $160). If you are comparing layouts, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tesla.com\/modely\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">official Tesla Model Y page<\/a> lays out the seating options.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Model YL seat covers I bought were two front covers, two second-row covers, plus a bottom cover for the third row. Thanks to the perforations, the ventilated seats still blow through just fine. Sitting down in summer, cool air comes through as before, which was a real relief.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am glad I picked the perforated version.<\/p>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_tuck-in_design_shifts_more_than_I_expected\"><\/span>The tuck-in design shifts more than I expected<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is the gripe.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The covers tuck into the seat gaps to stay put, but they come loose more easily than I hoped.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The seats our kids use are the worst offenders. Almost every time they get out, the cover has shifted.
